Hi folks, I am installing a rebuilt stock engine in my Model A and also changing the transmission from stock to a Chevy S10 Borg Warner T5. Can I install the engine with the T5 attached or is it best to install separately? I wasn't sure if there's enough clearance to do all at once, it seems like it may be too long as an ***embly. Thanks for input.

OK, let's try this again. I was scolded a while back for not doing this right. This is Phil, from Staten Island, NY. Happy Easter to those of you that celebrate. I have a 1929 Briggs Town Sedan, rebuilt engine I did myself, and I'm still working on the 5-speed S10 trans install. I just posted a update to my original post, in the correct section of the board. Thanks for all the greetings.

I installed my 327 with a muncie attached in my model a. I had to elevate the front end to gain clearance so that the tail shaft had room to pivot. My radiator was removed as well. I don't see why this couldn't be accomplished with a banger and a t5. A cherry picker with an engine leveler would be a great aid as well as an extra pair of hands or two. Good luck!

Do it all together .I just did a flathead to t5 ford trans very similar. Went rite in and than made the crewmember to hold the transmission in place you may have to remove the factory center cross member for clearance I cut mine out ...and made a new one ..
