I stretched the A frame under my T rpu just in front of the firewall for engine clearance, when I Z'd the rear the wheel base returned to aproximately the stock A length

I also lengthed the A frame under my T roadster by splicing in a donor front section right at the end of the taper for engine clearance

both of those I made the cuts straight vertical but added fish plates on the inside and boxed the rails full length

I fabbed the A frame under my A coupe from 2x4 tubing longer than stock
    also for engine clearance

  3. You might want to add if you are trying to get 2 inches to clear a motor or 4 feet to change the look.

I stretched mine 3" inches. I also moved the indent on the firewall over 4". There is another thread that has completed As that are stretched. Can't tell.

my roadster project is very similar to Gary's there

stretched just long enough to fit an early Olds in front of a T body

    VERY, VERY nice ride.

I'm curious to know the site where there are more extended Model A frames pictured.

FYI- I too have an extended Model A frame with a 109" wheel base.

The ONLY difference is that mine is a '30 Model A and I'm running all four fenders.

I have been working on my project since Oct. 2008 and when I'm finished, I will post pictures of my one of a kind build and totally done by yours truly.

Thanks for the pictures...........sure would like to see some with a full body and fendered Model A with an extended Model A frame underneath it.

i'm building a 29 A sedan for a guy. i lengthened the frame 4 and 3/4 inches after the middle crossmember to keep the stock wheelsbase and make it spring behind. worked out perfect

    PECDADDY..................
Thanks for the info on the site. Very, very nice rides and a lot of information.
I have a stretched frame which will allow my 327CI motor plenty of room and I will NOT have to bother the stock firewall.
    I have a wheel base of 109"....................
I'm running the stock fenders all the way around and would really like to see pictures of a '30-31 Model A with a stretched frame and fenders.

    Thanks again,
    Mike
