I have a '30 AV8 coupe. Its unchopped, and like hitchiker said if you remove the package tray you will gain all kinds of room. I did not have an original coupe bench seat when i was putting it together, so I used 30-31 sedan seats and made some custom brackets to mount them. I have a good friend who is well over 6' tall. He dove it with absolutely no problem. My firewall is not cut or recessed at all, and I put the steering column at a comfortable height for myself. 30-31 A's have a lot more room in them then the 28-29s do. Like others have said, pickups are a bit close inside.... 2 door sedans have all kinds of room and almost limitless seat placement. Vickys are the same way.

That's funny Scott... I was searching this forum to get some ideas for you! After you turned the Coupe into a roadster, I'm having a hard time building the back of the car so you don't have it open to the gas tank, but you can still sit in the thing... I bend the bench seat forward, but it's still tight. I'm bearly 5' 11 and I don't fit for shit... I think we need a bomber seat.

I am 6' 2" 300 and have room in the model A. No channel and no chop. Front bucket seats, gas tank in rear so little room for the 2nd row.

Tudors are suprisingly roomy. Im 5'9" and cannot reach the toe board of my car unless I move the seat forward. With the seats all the way back and a full rear seat, there is still room in the rear floorboard for my gym bag. The guy I bought it from was probably 6'1", maybe 6'2" and he didnt have the sat all the way back either.

  8. If you don't usuially have alot of passengers put the driver's seat in the Tudor on a track so it can slide backwards You may be cramping the foot room for rear passengers but you can let the short ones sit behind you I have a sport coupe, a roadster, a cabriolet, a pickup and a Tudor. Let me tell you that I think the only one with promise is the Tudor. The pickup truck is totally out of the question.

There is no question as to working with the seat and package tray to get leg room.

I am 6' 215#. My tudor, which is Damn sexy!, is unchopped and uses stock beetle seats at stock location. I have plenty of room, height and length wise. I have the leg room because the seat isn't slammed to the floor. Ideally the seat would go back about three inches. But that would make it fairly difficult to access the rear seat.

My 30 coupe is chopped 4", uses a van seat which sits on the stock A riser. Its a little thinner at the base than the stock seat. But the back is much thinner and the seat is pushed into the package tray about 3 inches. I have all the legroom I could ask for, even have to just lean forward to shift to 2nd. But I still only have about 3 inches of the top headroom.

Unless these guys have their butts on a three inch piece of foam on the floor of their car, I see it really hard that a 6'4" guy can sit in a chopped and or channeled coupe.

Another consideration, the further the seat goes back, Gettin in and out becomes increasingly difficult.

When we built my son's '29 hiboy in Thousand Oaks 1980, he is 6'6" 260 lbs.
Using pedals thru the floor, we made the seat as far back as possible in order to manipulate pedals with comfort.
Also tilting the seat riser up a bit helps too!!---Don

I am 6'3" and 260 with size 13 shoes, made a decent fit for my 1930 roadster. Stock firewall, bomber seats back to where my back just touches the body. I have a two inch foam pad where I am almost sitting on the floor which is channeled over the frame three inches. I fit good with three pedals and a large original Ford banjo wheel. This year I am going to put a top on it so that should be interesting with my big ass getting in and out......LOL! My grandaughter is sitting on a 7 inch booster seat as she like to be large and in charge. She calls it the metal car since its all metal inside and out. I may get soft and do an interior just for her but I like it bare bones.
