Did a search but came up empty. I am thinking of building a Model A fordor, reason being so I have room for friends and family. My coupe is great but limited to two people. Any body got any pics or projects they are working on? Primarily A-V8's or hopped up bangers. Planning on keeping the fenders too.
Do it and keep us posted. A's and '32's are the only cars I like 4 doors better than 2. Just has a great look to them. Just recently bought a slant fordor.
Yeah the Tudor does have a back seat and if I find a clean original I will go for it but there is something about the town sedans, the three side windows and the curved door tops that gets me going. I know they are practically all wood but when they are solid they are nice and have tons of room including a bench front seat.
31 slant window fordor is so close to a deuce,it's ridiculous, very little wood other than for tack strips and garnish. Sent from my iPad using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
I'll be doing one, but not anytime soon enough to help you out I suspect. I'm still researching, sourcing parts and working on the projects ahead of my Fordor V8.
That's exactly what I want too, a '31 would be awesome. There's a really cool '31 (minus the wheels) up here for sale, If I had the xtra cash I would definitely grab it, I need to transport 4 people as well. Nice flathead, looks reasonably sorted,****le, registered. ($8000, not bad) always being broke*****s.
Here is some pics of a 4 door I did. Was a great car to drive.350/350 100 1497 fresh paint, rib top from 99 Chrysler mini van by Hot Rod Nut posted Feb 15, 2014 at 1:20 PM 100 1497 fresh paint, rib top from 99 Chrysler mini van by Hot Rod Nut posted Feb 15, 2014 at 1:20 PM 100 1394 Turn the top front to back to fit by Hot Rod Nut posted Oct 22, 2013 at 6:07 PM 100 1394 Turn the top front to back to fit by Hot Rod Nut posted Oct 22, 2013 at 6:07 PM 100 1441 by Hot Rod Nut posted Feb 15, 2014 at 1:29 PM 100 1441 by Hot Rod Nut posted Feb 15, 2014 at 1:29 PM 100 1498 by Hot Rod Nut posted Feb 15, 2014 at 1:29 PM 100 1498 by Hot Rod Nut posted Feb 15, 2014 at 1:29 PM 100 1384 by Hot Rod Nut posted Oct 22, 2013 at 6:26 PM 100 1384 by Hot Rod Nut posted Oct 22, 2013 at 6:26 PM
Thats wicked! Other than the wheels! And for 8 gr? Grab it. Sent from my iPad using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
The slant window has a front windshield that slants back and it has no external sun visor. The other 4 doors have a vertical windshield and an external visor. The main advantage too the slant window, besides their looks, is that they are all steel construction (ok, there a few wood pieces). Thanks for the info, Charlie! I saw a Victoria A without the visor at the Louisville SRN this year. Is that correct?
I would in a second, but I'm not even going to have enough $ to pay August bills (electric, gas and phone company are gonna have to wait!) The more I look at it the better it seems, looks like nice finned covers, dual carbs, juice brakes, maybe a 40's trans, in one pick looks like a dropped axle, doors seem to line up, (I'm no expert on A's, but hope to someday be one) Mike Bowling, what do you think? It's registered,****led and on the road here in New England for $8k, that there is unique. It would at least cost $5k to buy a clapped out Fordor stock shell, and I don't think $3k would get it here. Times are tough all over, probly why the owner is selling! Sent from my iPad using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
All Model A Victorias came without external sun visors. If you want to research them they are Model 190A made from late 1930 through 1931. A good looking car. I never owned one but my guess is that they had a lot of wood in the body unlike the 4 door slant window sedans (and others). Charlie Stephens
