I looked for a thread but didn't find anything. Looking for pictures/ideas on model a rear frame mods. Looking for lowering and adding length to the frame for mounting a banjo rear end with the spring behind the rear end.

I did a modified version of the way Vern Tardel does it in the book. I cut my frame on a bias top to bottom, 7 3/8", the distance from the center of the axle to the center of the spring perch. This way it Z'd and stretched it at the same time and kept the stock A wheelbase. It's in my build thread, here's a few pics. Not that anyone will ever see it but I like that it's not an abrupt Z, it has a little flow to it. I also boxed it after these pics were taken. I'm actually in the shop right now getting ready to pull the box off. I can take some better pics if you want. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
On my chassis I made up frame rails from the center crossmember back out of 2x4 box tubing lengthened 7.5 inches to compensate for the spring behind. They are shaped like the original just longer
I am building this model A frame to fit under my '26 model T. It uses model A front and rear cross members, it is stepped 3" in the back and fully boxed. I turned the frame rails around so the thin taper of the rear frame rail is now the front of the frame. It has been narrowed to fit better under the T, 22" in the front and 35" in the back
