Hot Rods Model A Front Bumper: Keep or Remove

Bumpers?? Bumpers? We doan need no stinkin' bumpers!

 

I vote no bumper. On the roll pan; quarter an old Dietz or KingBee headlight shell for the corners and roll a piece to fill in the center; a shallow roll pan suits an A better if you feel have to have one.
A Model A hot rod is a mechanical thing; let the workings show; both front and rear.

 

Bumpers on an A have never been much good for anything but pushing. I will give them this they are better for pushing than the late ford counter parts.

To me a '30s Ford, especially before a boat fender car, with all the stuff, just screams resto rod. Pinto powered, radio tired wonders of the gas crunch of the '70s. No offense intended it was just something that everything inside me fought against.
