    I have a question for the more experienced people out there, please.

    I am planning on building a Brooksville Model A Roadster with a rumble seat as a high-boy on either the A chassis or the '32 chassis. I am NOT a metal fab person so please don't tell me how easy it is to cut the body apart, weld in some new panels, etc.

    I am just looking for a gas tank / location where I can still use the rumble seat for passengers.

    I don't have the money for the '32 body even though that would solve the gas tank problem.

    So my question: What do I do?

    Thanks anyone for your help.

    You have several choices as follows;
    1. Purchase a 32 style chassis extension and gas tank kit to fit your model A.

    2. Try finding and installing a vertical style gas tank that would locate behind the drivers seat and be wide and tall so rumble seat passengers should still be able to squeeze in.

    3. Build a custom tank that hangs bewteen the chassis rails in front of the diff with a tunnel to clear the drive shaft. This will demand that you can not use a triangulated 4 bar rear setup.

    4. If full fendered the saddle bag gas tanks are another option.

    I hope this helps...

    Use a stock "A" tank. They work great.

    If you want a useable rumble seat, and you're building a hiboy, you've gotta put the tank in the stock location or hang a deuce tank out back. Dagel's has a kit to do this for about a grand -- but with basic fab skills you could do it yourself for less. Good luck!

    Thank you all for your help - I've got the information now to digest and figure out what I'm going to do.
