I don't have a safety belt in my street Hotrod. I often wonder if they'd let me do a run whatcha' brung without it...but I'll ask for shits n giggles if there was ever one in this warrior...I know they ran them in the dry lakes in the 40’s, especially with war stuff for nickels and dimes...kinda in a different league than mine really...if it didn't this former racer was quite adventurous and lived to tell the story...amazing really all that power and just rear drum brakes...maybe even was plated and streeted...

    Brent...just curious...

Yes there was a lap belt in the car when I first got it. Lap belt will go back in, but that’s not something I’m worrying about right now. Not sure how much it would do anyway with that seat haha. 936108D5-81C6-4ACF-A81C-0DC95853A69C.jpeg

If that 70 yr + old seat belt fails, You have larger problems... Let's be honest/Clear...
Now the seat in a racing situation... Not so much.... But God.... Who doesn't love a Smokey filled bowling alley seat!!!!
    Priceless...

The car has a kick panel in it again. the original one I made ended up hitting the trans after I moved the engine, I will try to rough it up a bit eventually. The car is completely wired now with a keyed shut off, and keyed ignition. I cut the battery box down today, need to bolt it down and work on shortening the cables. The glass brake reservoir started leaking again, need to find a permanent solution to stop the leak. I think it should be ready to fire off next week

Is that headlight bar hollow? Can’t say I’ve ever seen anyone sneak the headlight wires threw one but it’s clever!

I finally fired the car off. It Will need some tuning but exciting to finally hear it! Not sure the shifter is going work.. I’m going to mess with the linkage more but the gates are wrong for a reverse valve body. I’ve been working on getting the master reservoir to stop leaking- it’s a major pain in the ass!

    Sounds great!
You did the YouTube thing correct it’s just that YouTube makes shorter videos into “shorts” and they don’t embed. Make your video longer and it will fully embed next time.

I’m going to end up running this b&m series 60 shifter in the car. Does anyone have the correct knob with the grove in it for this shifter? The guy I bought it from had a regular threaded one on it but doesn’t work 8C4D6109-0AB5-4827-AA12-C76A6F3F776F.jpeg CC52367E-32D4-491D-B23B-690C56BF560B.jpeg .

If you can find one I believe a 1965 Dodge A100 shift knob will fit. Some if the very early B&M Series 60 shifters used one that is nearly identical. Some of the knobs had their logo on sides instead of what you see here. Nice to hear that thing run!

Panella’s! They do great work! I think we had motors there at the same time. No wonder mine took so long. Lol.

That’s one bad a$$ little gasser.

The shifter is in. It seems like it will work 100 times better then what i originally had put in. Was going to fire it off and go through the gears on the stands but the car has no pedal for some reason. Bled for a hour and am getting nothing. Will mess with it more when the rain stops. 42933A84-81F4-4DE7-A53D-78C225EF20E2.jpeg

  27. The shifter looks right at home in there. Maybe pressure bleed the brakes?

I had that same shifter in my 64 El Camino When I got it 20 years ago and it worked out great. No problem but being a kid I just had to have a ratchet shifter and tossed it.
