Almost a year later and some progress is starting to be made.. I’m looking forward to getting back to this project.
I’m looking to buy something similar that is already pleated. Someone said possibly marine material? I want to piece the missing panels. Any ideas
That looks a lot like the vinyl insert material from a 64 Impala SS seat. I wonder if you can get it by the yard from Ciadellas. https://ciadellainteriors.com/product-category/products/1964/64-ss-models/
Look around on Amazon and e-bay. I found some pleated white to match the stuff in my old drag coupe. It was close enough and nice, so I used it.
I bought a few samples off eBay that looked similar in color, but they weren’t even close in person. Someone has something close I just need to find it
This belt was a little nicer than what was in it. The car would need major updating to be safe, so it will just stay how it is for now.
I can mail you some blue vinyl swatches, if anything matches, we can make you some pleated panels and ship em to ya.
The old 327 valve covers wouldn’t clear the rockers. Breathers will mount on the bottom of the new valve covers. The engine should be ready to fire in the next week or two.
Wholly crap that's bitchin. Excellent work!! Your selection of parts couldn't be better. All that on an 870 block. So cool. Please post a video of that running as soon as you can!
Ran into some fitment issues. When I first bought the car the engine was tipped back quite a bit. I thought the hydrostick was maybe just mounted low. The trans is hitting on of the stock 1/8” plate “crossmember”, and the front of the trans hits the kick panel. It’s sits at 7 degrees right now. I’ll start trimming next week sometime.
2words... Bad ASS! Car is a time warp experience. The interior is just nuts when compared to today's safety standards. What camshaft was originally used and what are you using now? Part/grind numbers?
