model a. help with dizzy id please.

this dizzy came on an a banger.does anyone recognise it?? its a bit of a big ugly brute, but wondered if it was a good make or not. whats with the winding on the side???also , where can i get parts for it if i decide to use it??

Its a magneto. Looks like a Lucas unit.

 

My BSA lucas stuff was junk, the same with their car stuff?

 

Steve B didn't notice you was in England, differently a Lucas unit then.
