I have a nice 4 piece hood for a 29 A I'd like to sell. I've got a potential buyer, but he's building a 29 pickup. Did all of the 28-29 A's have the same hoods? Thanks in advance. Cory
1930&1931 Mod. A hoods were different than , '28 & '29 hoods, just check the grill shape and you will see the difference. ................. Jack
What is hood from? MOST '28-9 are the same except for minor resto details, but cabriolets and various four doors use a COMPLETELY different hood that won't fit the pickup or other cars.
Unless you are restoring a Model A for fine point judging most of the changes that were made such as louver height, early '28 vs later hood handles and early '28 vs later hood hooks won't matter. The Briggs and Murray bodies used a different hood with side moldings similar to '30-'31 cars. All the rest were the same.
The easy way to tell a 28/9 cabriolet or fordor hood from all other 28/9 hoods is the bead on the lower-ish edge of the hood top. The regular 28/9 hoods didn't have any bead on the hood top.
