Maybe a project like what fellow HAMBer Von Tingler has on E-gay would be a good starting point.

An early-mid 60s car is a good choice because the drivetrain and wearable parts are usually more readily available from the parts store. They usually only need a lowered stance to look good, and you won't have to face the embarr***ment of growing out a mullet like you would owning a muskle car. Every household should have a custom AND a rod anyway, so get the custom first. [IMG] Besides, most ladies dig a comfortable custom over a balls-out hot rod, and with a 60s boat, you'll be able to carry friends around (and stick that trash-picked sofa in the trunk).

Or you could be extra cool like I was in college and drive a 1986 Mercury Sable ... with power seats. Oh yea.

Ya know.....lookin for a project is kinda like fishin! Ya drop in the line and sit back and relax. It may take awhile for the fish to find it and a bit more time for him to take the bait.
You buy the first project ya run across cause ya can't find anything and I'm here to tell ya..........as soon as you lay out the green you'll find 20 more just like it.
    Patience my man, patience! [IMG]
