    ....how low is too low?
I'm working on getting some digital pix & yes I have done some searching....
the 411: brookville 4 bar chassis, buggy spring ft, 3" drop axle, 289 c4, stock grill & hood, p/u cowl, hacked firewall, woodie body w/fenders & running boards....
on this chassis the 4-bar brackets hang down below the frame rails, so I'm not too bummed that everything seems to be hanging down, I'm just wondering what kind of clearance you experienced folks like to have under the oil pan & trans x-member.... he wants to run 2 sets of seats, so I set it up to keep as much room up front & keep the floor as flat as possible.

Center the fan up/down in the radiator, that's a good starting point. See how it fits with the 3 degree tilt back. Work from there.

I never run the full 4 bar bracket, either cut it in half and run the top bar in the frame, or switch to hairpins. Otherwise it drags on everything, or worse yet, the car will sit too high. As for the motor, let the oil pan clearance be your guide, you can always build a trans tunnel.

  4. Your fan clearance to the rad and lower pulley will determine the distance. I'm running a front sump with no clearance issues of xmember or suspention with a 4 inch dropped axle, 4 bar in a 28.
