Just thought you might be interested in how we solved the problem of our steering column position in this sweet 1931 Model A when we converted it to right hand drive. We are in London, England, the owner wanted the truck to be RHD, problem was the column almost hits the motor. We didn't want one of those chain driven solutions so we machined up a 1:1 steel geared, aluminium cased offset box, we also had to make a tool to cut the splines. The result is the output shaft is now over by 3" and makes the steering shaft almost straight. It's flush mounted so when you look from the motor side all you will see will be the 4 mounting bolts. I made one of those for my 32 coupe. Mine did reverse the rotation. But I wanted to mount the r&p behind the axle and so that worked. Had I used three gears It would have been standard rotation. Be aware that several people on the HAMB said it was much to complicated for any normal person to accomplish. Actually is was easy.
