Them stock T frames are not much.Think it would be better to custom build a frame from 2X3.You`ll only have to box in the T frame anyway.

I'm thinking of using a 34 truck cab as a bucket... will it be too wide?

My question is, why are you going to go get it at night?..........lol.....j/k [IMG]

Seriously though, theres nothing to a T frame, not to mention that your basing the whole foundation of your car on 70+ yearold steel. No more than what one is you could make one better and stronger. Being that it's sold old iron will have stress cracks that you can't see with the naked eye unless you use a three stage dye penetrant.

The body mounting holes should line up.
    BUT
The T frames are flimsy, even compared to an A frame.
With anything more powerful than the stock Banger,
you would be better off making a frame from rectanglular tubing, just like these guys in England.

first question....why? that frame is too weak, too flexible and will probably fall apart.

go down to the welding shop and buy some square tubing and do it yourself.

Drop a Vette motor and tranny in that frame and make a real low buck banger rod!

    (CHEvette, not CORvette!!)

The frame will handle that 96 inch weakling...for a while! [IMG]

Check e-bay...there's a guy on there all the time who offers up freshly welded T frames with small chevy mounts already in place for a couple hundred bucks. I think he's out of Ohio.

  19. People don't like Model T frames because they are pure SHIT and shouldn't be used for the basis of ANY hot rod.

If you can't swing the price of a couple of 10' sticks of 2x3 tubing... you sure as hell ain't going to ever get the thing driving down the road.

If you don't have a welder... you can buy a basic T-bucket frame that is made from 2x3 or 1 1/2 x 3 and bold everything else onto that.

    Sam.

  20. The T crossmembers won't do you any good either, maybe an A crossmember up front. Ever noticed how at every swap meet you go to there are like 10 T frames for 50 bucks each? [IMG]

Stand two T frames parellel with each other and weld angle iron across them to hold them 16" apart. That will bring them to there highest and best use, FIREWOOD RACK. Take everyones advice and either start with an A frame; wider, stronger, more adaptable, or start from scratch. Maybe you'll get to be the one guy at the swap to sell a T frame for $50. By the way, around here there isn't any land not owned by anyone.

    They'd make a dope-ass go-kart frame... kinda long, tho.
