Model A Price Question

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by OilDevil13, Apr 6, 2006.

  1. My boss has a complete front axle w/juice brakes, steering linkage, split wishbones. and a banjo rear w/ orig spring attached and drive line. 30-31... whats it worth. What would you give for it?
He's wanting to make a Boyd Coddington street rod out of his three window, and is talking 10K for his frame set up... Im cool with that. I want his rusty shit. I want to offer him a decent price... what do you guys think?

There were no production Model A 3 window coupes either. Model A's were built from 1928 thru 1931. Could you tell us the year of the parts and post some pictures of the stuff that you are thinking about buying?

Sorry but there was a 3 window A. Go to the recent thread ...some old pictures...the slideshow is from Mo's and show the Ford plant and a three window at the end:rolleyes: .

  5. There were no production Model A three windows... period.

That pic is of a "concept vehicle"... I think there may have been two or three of those, and I do not think any of them exist today.

So... what YEAR front axle, bones and stuff does he have? You can easily put juice brakes on a Model A with that ring-thingie adaptor. If it has a dropped axle, the proce goes up. As well as if it has '39 spindles versus Model A's with the ring thingie.

    Sam.

  6. There is one 1931 Model A 3 window coupe still in existence and is reported to be one of the rarest factory Model A's. It is alleged to have been one of Edsel Ford's own personal cars. It has a C engine under it's hood, and maroon in color, with black fenders. It was shown at the 1974 MAFCA National Meet held at the Queen Mary in Long Beach, CA. It also was shown at the 1990 San Diego National Meet and is owned by Sam Bergman.

Alex, I'll take Ford trivia for $1000.

  8. The guy is your boss, so you'll naturally be wary of insulting him. But on the other hand, he knows what he's paying you, and what you can afford.

I would not go higher than 500 bucks, unless all of it is roadworthy as it sits. And it does depend a little on if its got performance parts, like dropped axle, etc.

you can always go up in price, never down. Offer to work it off an extra day or two.I let my guys do that.

Whatever happened to your buddy with the 59?
