Don't know but I did kick up the rear frame in my 28 sedan and have a back seat in it. Hope that helps.
i don't think you can step the frame much at all and retain the rumble seat, i'm trying to keep mine by running a spring behind the axle set-up like on 34 ford
Same here and i dont think its gonna work without t*******, you may be able to squeak in a tardel step with a little t******* also. With the spring out behind the axle, the crossmember needs to be right where the lid would hit to open all the way. FWIW I was thinking of using dense foam rather than springs on the bottom of the seat, to hide the rise, and limiting the lid opening up all the way and try to save the rumble seat for aesthetics.
On a 30-31 you can if you do the Tardel style framewidth Z in the back. The floor kicks up high enough to clear the rear crossmember. Heres a pic of my z.
Depends on what rear suspension you are using. I have a 3" step in the frame much like the tardel type step in the picture above. I'm running coil overs and have a flat crossmember, instead of the arched original one in the picture. No interference with the rumble seat at all. I don't have any pictures handy, they're out in the car. Let me know if you want to see them, and I'll get off my **** and go get them. Red
does not sound like its doable with keeping the buggy spring, looks like I'll have to go the model T spring route. this is the stance I'm looking for:
I kicked my '29 up 4" and was going to modify the seat springs/cushion to accomidate(sp) rear cross member, but at the last moment decided to channel it 4" as well. That was a deal breaker! Ya know the idea of using a flat crossmember sounds pretty dang good!
Here's a couple of pictures, they should give you some ideas. The back of the frame was narrowed to fit between the subrails, when it's stepped. Flange extending out from side of crossmember is for body mounting. I probably can find a few more pics if needed. Red
