Model A rear spring perch distance? ready to weld em on.

hey all,
Ive made up rear spring hangers to weld on to my 8" mustang rear, running a stock A rear spring and crossmember, unsure of the width between the spring hanger hole centres, I assume they have to make it a struugle to get the spring on...how wide apart though? will use normal length shackles.the spring pack has the top four leaves cut right down.
Anyone have a measurement handy?? or an amount wider than the static spring pack maybe?(static width between spring eyes is 40 3/4")

Add 4.5" to 5" to your measurement you got there and weld em on.Thats it......Shiny

 

stock model A's have 48" spring perch centers.....you have to stretch the spring to get it on

 

Great job on your hangers I would suggest one more thing to do is heat and arch in middle so when spring shackles bouncein they dont hit flat area, similiar like cupping your hand that way when you bottom out it doesnt hit. Look at how pete and jakes makes thiers.

thanks guys, I see what you mean rude dude, ill make sure ive got enough clearance, may heat and bend if needed,will mount them angling in a little anyway.they are going to be real close to the ends of the axle tubes, but thats cool.
