Has anyone made a rear window in a 1930 tudor sedan roll down or made it hinge out ? I'm tring to make a frame just like the front to allow the rear window hinge out. Any pics or comments.
The way the gl*** fits, it would probably be hokey to have it hinge out. It probably wouldn't be hard to adapt a coupe roll down setup, but the way the body curves down it might interfere. How about 2 pieces, split in the middle, and slide open like a pickup truck?
The rolldown back window was an option from 1930-34 on Ford Coupes. I believe the body curvature would not allow that option to be used on a Tudor sedan unless you sort of tunneled the window and interfered with the rear seat backrest.
You might want to think about Carbon Monoxide. Station wagons running with the rear window open tend to **** exhaust fumes into the car. It would probably be the same with an early sedan. Lots of turbulence back there and it has to escape somewhere. The rear window down creates a low pressure area inside....
Yup, C9 is right there. Found that out carrying lumber home in my Jeep with the back open. And a friend of mine found out about air currents QUICK when he was driving like a douche with me in the back of his pickup. A smokebomb will fill the cab up really really fast when you light it and hold it near the rear window... and your guess is as good as mine as to why I was riding in the back of a pickup with a stash of smoke bombs.
