I will be there..... I've missed seeing the truck around too. Here's hoping you fall back in love with her and you keep it forever. Details are everything: And it may be chromed now...but it'll always be radiant magenta to us.
That truck is bad ass! What the hell is this about a THEM party at your house Tuesday night? Where was my invite? Have fun brother! monkey
Now for the question we all are dying to ask...... Is it gonna be at the Roundup, & will you be doing a wicked burn-out on Congress that night???
You always have a cage to stay in at my place Monkey. - Now where are those lipstick pictures????? I changed my mind - No party. I don't have any plans for the holidays so I will be taking my time with the re-install so I can savor the experience. As for burnouts on Congress, the truck won't do it with the freeway gears. But the Commander has plenty of tire tread left.
I'm sure this is a stupid question, but here goes... What's the upside down cake pan looking thing behind the dash?
Home-made heater! Used two bread pans with a tranny cooler inside. The old gas cap on the cowl has a scoop attachment with a hose running to the bread boxes..which blows hot air on your feet while driving down the road. I know, I know...He always comes up with the coolest shit! monkey
Missed that thing at the drags this year. Did see some asshole in a Stude making noise at the hotel I do have questions on your cowl, been thinking of something similar on my 29. How do you seal it up from water?
Not to get technical but it was a meatloaf pan. I have a strip of adhesive weatherstripping stuck to the bottom side of the cowl that seals across the firewall in front. I do still get a little water in the side seams, but it just runs down the inside and doesn't bother any wiring. I get more water through the windshield hinge and door gaps than the cowl. The cowl latches down with 6 Dzus fastners and comes off pretty easy.
You should be killed for having sooooo much ingenuity in one person! I hate you...okay I really don't but it sounded good didn't it??? The truck is coming along nicely, again. Glad to see yer not mad at it anymore. Reverend Jake
Glad to see the truck is coming along... It would be good to see you and MAX WEDGE driving to PASO in it again You two were a cute couple
I got it running Thursday night, no major problems. Notice the lack of red fuel line.....See other post. Ran it to Dallas and the vacuum advance was acting up. Pulled the distributor apart and fixed everything. Got careless putting it all back together and found out how to make a Pertronix module smoke by hooking up the + - backward. I forgot how to set up points, it took me an hour to find a picture in the book. Can't wait to get the ring seated so I can flog it and play with the new cam.
Hey Tyler... so,when you come down to get the springs, bring a trailer and 500 bux and you can take a 64 caddy with a nice runnin 472 in it home. tranny is good, too. oughta wake that elky right up... Lux
What you doing to the elky I have an extra 59 Buick that need to be an ElLasabro. I wanted to do it one day but I dont think that will happen any time soon. I have two other cars to finish. I just want to see my dream on the road.
So glad to see it back together. Now I've got to gat the insurance co off thir ass so iI can gat mine back together! I'm planning on doing the Roundup this year. jerry
Man I'm glad to see you fall in love again! Definately one of the slickest engineered hot rods on the planet. One of these days I gotta figure out how to get in it and go for a ride.
