Does anyone know how and where the stock rubber bumpers mount on a '29 roadster overlapping door? Some pics would help.

What doors are you working with: factory, Brook, or fiberglass?

Brookville...they seem to only have 1 L shaped bumper but the kits I see have at least 2 L shaped and a couple of buttons. Do both L shaped go on the door and the buttons on the jambs fore and aft?

Unfortunately I haven't really studied Brookville doors to see how actuate to the originals they are, but they are as close as you can get. I've worked with stock '29 doors (I'm not a restorer mind you) and I know that one L shaped one goes on the jamb below the door latch. The hole in the middle of it is where a screw goes through into a threaded nut attached to the inner structure.
The mushroom shaped bumpers press into a hole between the hinges at the cowl jamb. You were right in you guesses.
As far as having too many bumpers, perhaps you have a kit for a touring car. That kit would supply enough rubber for four doors.
There are also the crescent rubber pieces (two per door) install in the door above & below the metal clip that catches the dovetail on the jamb below the door latch again.
Post your resto question on Fordbarn.com as well. That site is littered with guys ready to answer restoration questions.
