Here is what I have collected off of the web. I know a couple of them are '32s, but I really like to style, and want to mimic it on my '31.

Anybody have a picture of a Model A with a Sid Chavers Bob Top? I see them on 32's but never a 28-31 roadster.

Horrible things them tops, sorry !!!

  24. A top can make or break a roadster. The lines have to be right, and so few are. I welded up the frame for this one out of 3/4" square tubing. It took two days of fiddling to get what I wanted. I had my upolstery shop pad and cover it inside and out, similar to a Carson top.

Here is a picture of a hardtop I am building for my roadster. It's made from three different tops.

And it looks right, nice job.

  27. A tip for anyone who may build his own top frame: Scrounge a large bed sheet and as you are tacking the frame together, drape the sheet over it to see what the final shape will look like. Much, much easier to get the look you want when it's finished. I changed the height of the rear and middle bows many times to get the exact proportions I wanted. The sheet makes it easy to see the lines.

Thats the same tip i use, really gives an idea how it will finally look. heres a couple of mine, both homemade frames, The top can make or break a car in my opinion.
