model a roof

    im not a wood person and i decided on this design for my roof spurs. well ive finally got them done and i thought id share them with you. the next stage is to make the roof sides and then the removable centre. i plan to do a centre like the 32 bonneville car of chris. his thread has given me lots of inspiration, thanks for looking

    thankyou, ive got about 2 weeks worth of nights and weekends in the roof so far. im going to make the centre panel removable and nickel plate the cross spurs

    had a rest for a while. now back into it. started making new roof panels to allow for an aluminium roof insert

    You didn't actually whittle them out of solid strapping one hole at a time did you (as in the pic of it on the milling table)? And the ends, are they seperate? - they don't look it but i just can't imagine you cutting the 'stringers' out of solid chuncks of aluminum, you'd need a snow shovel to gather the shavings.
    Nice work. I like the visor too.

    i made a template and had them lasercut. i then milled the scollops invidually, yes a lot of work. the ends are welded on and fettled.
