Hi Everyone - recently bought (and tried to install) a set of '39 lights in my Model a roadster. Problem is it is a Rumble Seat car and there is no room for the taillight. It bottoms out on the pan in between the rear apron and seat. For those who have been here and got through it, what are the options? Any traditional taillights with shallow depth requirements? Should I just section the set of 39 lights and make them shallower?
how about putting the `39 taillights in the fenders? that's where i put them on my `28 Tudor......or maybe you don't have fenders?
My 31A roadster came with 47 chevy tail lights. It has a rumble lid and it seems everything worked out for those clearance wise. Here is a couple pics if it helps.
It could be an option, actually. I wanted to put them in the lower pan, but maybe I just fill it back in and cut my losses. :/
I'll take a look, with the rumble seat interior panel, it still may be too tight. I tried the '39 lights and I had a set of '50 Pontiacs and they both won't clear
Mine has the curved interior panel in place and the lights don't hit, or if they do it doesn't prevent me from using them. I just added the rumble seat stops to my curved pan and had it in and out about 5 times yesterday.
Stock Ford 39 tailite housing is really deep, some after markets are really short. I have a pair both ways. shortened your deep ones. hey, no problem
