Does anyone remember this '28/'29 Model A, probably from San Luis Obisbo, California?
The guys in the photo are the surf band, The Sentinels. From SLO, they were active in the early sixties.
The owner's first name was Bob.

That's going to be tough to find. Check the area high school year books too. The owner may have still been in school or loaned it out for homecoming etc. I generally hate whitewalls on Model As. But piecrust cheater slicks are an exception to the rule.

I remember reading somewhere a commentary on the transition period of wide to skinny whites, and white interiors to black. For some reason I think it was in the Best of Hot Rod book. The example car looked exactly like that sedan. IIRC it was red in the picture.

I think it was a Ganahl article.

By what the band is wearing, I'd say the photo is from 1964.

The loss of "Too Tall" was an unexpected blow to the community. His son is keeping Pat's website alive - https://patganahl.com/

If it’s not in the Best of Hot Rod I have no idea where it is. But somehow it seems like Pat Ganahl did a history lesson on the timeframe of whitewalls and upholstery trends. I can still see the picture that accompanied the story, and it is a front 3/4 view of this sedan (or its twin) in color. Another car which I forget, is also in the picture.

I seem to remember the end of wide whites and birth of skinny whites was about 1962 according to the article.
