IMG_20211102_103028825_HDR.jpg Sorry if I missed it and excuse the mess. If you are using a 30-31 sedan body, here is what I am doing. The rear step-up covers the rear frame section.

Went to a swap meet around me the other weekend. Tyrods at Stafford Speedway in CT. Picked up a set of pretty good shape 33 chevy truck headlights. Complete. Good clean lenses, good reflectors, good buckets and good rings. Also got a Ross steering box. It'll be for my cowl steering(I've read about the steering woes, I have built many racecars and will get bump steer minimized). I've tried searching and haven't found much on it. Maybe someone here can help? Best I can tell is that it might be early Jeep/Bantam/Crosley. Not sure the tubes are stock. I think it was in a midget at some point in it's life.

Sloppy, So this is for a Jeep? Anything to keep my eye open for when rebuilding? Not sure what normal wear items should have extra attention given to. Thanks!

Hi all, getting a door together enough to hang so I can get everything lined up and fit on drivers side. Question for you all, how does the interior door lock work? I see the slide for it, and know there is a knob along the top back edge of door panel near the B post, but is there linkage that ties them together?

Mat, There should be a little chromed lever, about an inch long, located at the top corner of the inside door panel, nearest to the B pillar.

not that i know of sir, but the jeeps/ross make a normal box that lets the pitman arm point up...

Long time since my last post. Been getting back at it. Working on floor structure and connecting rockers to the floor structure. Also working on raising and stretching wheel openings to let suspension travel.

Hey all, finally got myself back to the wheel arch on drivers side. All tacked together, front of arch at about the 6” height needs a small slice then close and weld to eliminate the small peak(in the painted area).

Also working on door fitment. Passenger door seems to line up nicely front and back but seems like the opening is too wide(I’d say a 1/4”-3/8”). Hinges don’t look perfectly square but does have a nice consistent gap. Top measures 28 1/2” and bottom measures 28 3/16”. Tapered. And has a 28 3/4” “waist” in the center, like it got hit and bent one of the posts. But no evidence of that.

Now the drivers side has the same top and bottom measurements, and is not bowed in the middle. It overlaps the rear panel more than the passenger side does.

I’m confused on which is right and what I may need to do to fix it. Hoping a reader can help with a few dimensions to save days of head scratching?

Anyway, here’s a few pics to go along with the story. Can add more if/as needed.

Hey all, got body width set finally. Passenger door now opens and closes nicely. Now time to work on drivers door. Hinges in doors, both sides, were bent. Nothin a little heat and a BFH can’t fix.

P.S. - Please don't mind the mess. The visor is only held on with a couple of spring clamps. That's another thing to figure out how it mounts and mates to the panel under the visor. Time to go to another car show.
