Has anyone ever added a door to the rear of the body similar to the delivery? What does it look like? Photos? thanks Leon
I saw a mag article a few months ago about doing this on what I THINK was a Model A, it was actually a kit... I will try to remember where I saw it...
The Mag was a 32, But Gibbons Fibergl*** use to make a kit to turn a tudor into a Delivery looked good when done right, There was also a gibbons kit on here for sale a couple months ago!!
There are/were a couple of kits around to put the doors in the back of Model A's to make a delivery out of them. And actually it would be pretty practical in a sedan to make trunk space behind the back seat. Some info here http://books.google.com/books?id=Sa...e&q=Model A sedan delivery conversion&f=false It looks like Gibbons made a kit at one time.
Not interested in losing the side windows... just adding a rear door! Could a side door work? Or would you need to look for a delivery door?
Somebody just posted a WIW/should I trade for this asking about a 30-31 tudor with a door cut into the back of it and the side windows plated off.
Gibbons did a conversion years ago. Doc Frohmader covered it in Street Rodder. We had his car in the shop when I worked there and the fibergl*** to steel raises issues unless you do a stock style top. Hard to fill the top otherwise (read my boss ****ed it up and it was repaired later by the body guy). I have also seen a station wagon type upper "window" or "hatch" cut into an A, one I remember allowed access to stuff in the rear seat area.
