First of all this is my first thread post. Not new to the HAMB but I do spend a lot of my time reading all of great info. I did a search first and did`nt see what I was looking for. I would like to know in real world driving not always on smooth roads what kind of rear axle to frame clearance do I need. Its a full fendered 29 model A with a buggy sprung banjo rear. Thanks for any info.David
It depends on how many leafs you have and what kind of weight you'll be putting back there. I would think you could get away with 3 inches of travel with a full stack of leaves. Maybe even more. Do a search on suspension travel and see what amount other people have for travel.
my 1931 town sedan with full fenders rode fine as the roads today are better than in 1929.I swaped in a 1963 vette rear with 6 flat springs and the car sits level and rides great.
