As in the****le, I need to buy some plugs for a stock 1930 Model A. Anyone know what is the correct plug I should buy?
The "correct" spark plug, if you are going to have your car judged by the M.F.C.A./M.A.F.C.A. is Champion 3X but are very pricey. Other plugs that will work are Champion W16Y and Motorcraft also makes a plug but I don't have the number but the thread size is 7/8-18.
With the part number I wonder if they could be ordered from the local auto parts store at a better price? Charlie Stephens
Last time I looked the Champion 3X plugs were about $50 each and the rumor was that they were being discontinued. Model A spark plug gap should be .035.
I think I paid 2.75 ea from auto zone deffinetly gap to .035 - my #3 plug was jumping from the copper lead to the advance rod which is a lot more than .035
