Thanks to everyone who replied and poted pics, i have a plan... i'll keep it under wraps for now, but stay tuned for some updates in the near future
Wrong-un, I dig your coupe. I hope my '29 Sport Coupe basket case turns outt half as cool. Here's a vintage pic I downloaded. What do you all think about leaving the splash aprons on? You dont see it done today, but I bet it was common back then. Someone should buy 51 Rat's body. It looks like a good one. I'm sorry I had to back out on it. It was just too far from me.
Here's my buddy's....I know, I know, not a sports coupe, but it is a special coupe, and figured maybe the car would give you an idea, even if the roof is different.
That looks like the picture I uploaded! The Jack Rose car was the inspiration behind my car, if you look closely you'll see the running boards are still on as well. I did consider leaving the aprons on but decided against it fairly late on in the build, not really sure why thinking back. I did manage to convince Artiki to leave them on his coupe though.
Hey Bern, I see you are in Melbourne, I visited there a couple of years ago and met a guy named Geoff Murdoch , he has a muffler shop out on Warrigal Road (??spelling) he has five or more Model A Hot Rods, all painted bright red , often a couple of them parked out front. He had just bought a Sport Coupe when I was there in 2005 , he should have it finished now. I can't remember the exact address , but it is on the right hand side if you are going towards Cheltenham/Dandenong . Hope this is not too confusing I was only there for three weeks.
Well that explains where I got the photo. I am amazed how many pure traditional rods you UK and Aussie guys come up with. Most all are very well done.
My favorite Model A Sport Coupe! Metalshapes: Video of Alex proving its value in more than aesthetics: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=5442089849716139270&q=metalshapes
97 you wouldn't read about it, i know Geoff very well and only live around the corner from his shop!!! In fact he had a hand in my roadster!!! I prob be seeing him this weekend too. Man this hot rod world is just too small
I dug mine out of it's 40 year storage in my pole building. Hope to get started on it as soon as I get a JW Rod Garage deuce frame. Going to be flathead powered with a T5 trans, no chop.
