I went to fit the door garnish molding that I made with 36 Ford trim pieces and realized that I forgot to take in account the inside release handle...oops.

I had to make a notch in the middle of the trim piece and also grind a relief in the back of the wings for the door rod to clear.

While I was at it I stripped the paint off them...got everything fitted and rewelded together, and the door latch clearing and working good. These should look cool when painted.

Installed my side peep mirrors. I used a small homemade gasket that Allen cut out for me so the paint doesn't get hogged up. The end result is clean.

Mounted my turn signal/parking lights which are actually model a cowl lights. I did this on my last car and it worked out nice. This time I made some L brackets and mounted them right under the frame rails. I made a chrome extension piece to slide over the stub that originally went into the cowl. Late night bad cell phone pics again..sorry.

My fuel log and fittings should be here tomorrow and I should be able to get that knocked out if everything arrives.....

Got the carbs all plumbed and my fuel lines all buttoned up coming out of the log. Also fitted my grill shell and made an insert out of some expanded aluminum.

    Oh yea !

The only thing that conncerns me (and I've gotta see it in person) - I hope there's enough air flow through the grille insert to cool the rad .

    Looks gnarly though !

The picture kinda makes it look like it's a solid piece of metal....it's actually loaded with holes and should be fine...I was thinking someone would say something about that after I saw the pics..... again shitty late night cell phone pics

LOL - I know that you like to drive the crap out of your cars & I was worried it might run warm . Sounds like it's good to go then !

  17. Very nice...I like your style. The front end looks killer.....with the lights, finned drums, backing plates and grille insert.

Is that a sheet of aluminum with the holes already drilled...or did you drill all those? Will enough air get through to cool it? I only ask because I would like to do something similar, but with slightly bigger holes. It's looking real good. I can't wait to see what it looks liek painted!

Got my plug wires on today also. I went with old style wires and rajah ends from the The Hot Rod Company....crazy fast shipping with those guys. Good quality product

The weather was nice today and I rolled it outside for some pics as the chassis is basically finished. It's the first time it's seen sun...

Got the door glass in without breaking anything...ha. Actually it wasn't too band. The hardest part was getting the regulator knob into the bottom of the channel

  21. Lookin good Jerry, was up in Robesonia yesterday to visit my grandaughter. Was hoping to get over to your garage but over stayed our visit and had to get home. See ya, Hank.

  22. It really looks killer! I may have to steal that cowl lamp turn signal idea. Rock on!

    from so cal

I just got through looking at this project from start to finish.
BOY am I envious of your progress!
I saw your perforated insert and I think it will pose a problem.
I have attached a link to a perforating company that shows the percentage of open area for several hole patterns.
As you can see even with a whole lotta holes the open area is still small. I couldn't tell the hole sizes or spacing in your piece but I suspect that it is very restricting. I hope this helps. Here is the link http://www.accurateperforating.com/round_straight.php

Chassis is completely done now.....I'm going to fire the motor this coming week sometime. I need to pick up some coolant for the radiator. Waiting on some custom 6x2 carb linkage from dickster here on the HAMB. He put together a nice set up for me that should work great.

The body will see color this coming week also. I'm going over to Donny's tomorrow to help with the final blocking. Nice to finally see it straight and in primer
