so i picked this one up a couple months ago, from a guy who had it as a planter on his porch. so i take a ride out to his house, to check it out and strike up a deal with him so after the cash was exchanged we loaded it up and drove back.
the tops of the doors and the winshield post had been cut up preety bad so i decided to buy some 29 stansions and chop them and slant them a little bit than welded them into the body than made a winsheild frame out of some round tube, after that i capped off the doors (no i didnt thin the doors down). sorry, after that i picked up the 16" wheels with 6.00 16's front and rear with the caps and trim rings, i used all 40's juice brakes, a 39 rear, with model A spring over, the front axle is a 46 ford origanal from the day and taffy pulled got that from a guy who got it from cali on a 30 sedan he bought. steering box is a leter 40's f1 box with a 1946 steering wheel. so this is where i am as of now, thanks.

A PLANTER ON HIS PORCH??????? That could be kinda fun. I'de throw the flower pot in the engine bay, and drop a bench seat in it. Make engine noises when the neighbors walk by.....

Good save, so much better as a hotrod than a flower pot.

    * update *

so today i finished a bunch of things i wanted to get done
    i finished the trans tunnel
    [IMG]
after that i got started on some door panels
    [IMG]
after that i mounted one of the pedal pads i still need 1 more
    [IMG]
than after that i was sitting there making the vroom vroom sounds as i power shifted (lol) and i was looking at the horn ring it was all cruddy and dirty so i grabbed some mothers billet pollish and a blue shop rag and gave it a quick rub a dub dub and bam it looks pretty again ..it had a real big smudge of paint on the center embblem like it was dragged along something i used the billet pollish and it came off after rubbing the hell out of it.
nothing is super perfect but that the way i want it to look not to new just rite so all the new parts match the old parts.

here is the shifter bolted up and waiting for a cool knob
    [IMG]
here i wanted to use the factory gas tank and gauge bezel so i modded the stock one to fit these gauges in it so i molded some tin to it and was able to slide the gauge down inside it and bolt it in from the back now i can still see the stock gas gauge everything works i think it looks pretty good not perfect but good enough for me here is the side veiw
    [IMG]
here is the front veiw, i like it alot rather than fitting a diffrent dash.

cool beans. i'm digging the Pinto engine as well; i let one slip through my hands last year. was keeping it for a Falcon project that everyone told me was stupid beyond words. i guess they were right (RIGHT!).... it didn't get done.

again; neat work. i like the hell out of it.
