How many ways are there to mount a Model A spring on a '40 rear (directly over the axle centerline?) I've seen Tim Ayer's, but I'm not sure that the parts are still available and the welding looked kind of substantial. Anyone got pix and a description of what they've done? Thanks!!

(Come to think of it, has anyone ever stretched an 'A' frame and moved the crossmember behind the axle and used the stock '40 mounts on the axle housings? That might eliminate Z'ing? Would that create massive body headaches?)

You can stretch the frame and run the spring behind the axle. Either way you need to z it.. Same amount of work with a different spin. Note: You can't really run a quick change with spring behind axle.. Something to think about.. Good luck..

don't worry, the welded leaf spring is only for mock up purposes while i wait for a proper reversed eye spring.
