I have a feshly rebuilt model A steering box and column. It's a keyed shaft.
What options do I have for steering wheels?
    Will a '40 Ford work?
    What other?

If you look closely at a stock wheel, you will see there is a hub that fits over the splines that is riveted to the steering wheel itself. You can drill out the rivets and then use it as the adapter to bolt any aftermarket wheel that you like. Does that help?

  3. The tapers are close but not close enough. I have a steering shaft from a model A plus a stub shaft that came with the banjo wheel. The A shaft is a little larger than the newer. I am now trying to find someone who could possibly turn this down.

    Yeah that helps a lot.
Now I just need to find an old battered Model A wheel to rob that from.
