If the car is titled as a roadster but is really a coupe. Does it really matter? Can that be changed easily? Being model a's can be rebodied. Vin is on top of left frame rail. In Indana it's not a probem but this car is going to So Cal and I don't want the new owner to have any trouble.
Same difference. Since the VIN is on the frame (or engine, if its the original engine), the VIN hasn't changed, though the body may have. Call/email your RMV and ask them the question... you may have to produce a bill of sale for the "new" body, and pay a sales tax... If they want to inspect the VIN to see it hasn't changed, ask if they will help you remove the body....
I would try and have the title amended there, as it will be an issue in California. I had the pink slip for my A Coupe although it hadn't been registered since 1988. It took me about 6 months of fighting with DMV to get title changed and put in my name and was a real pain, plus costing a fair amount of time and money. Do the guy a favor and have it done before it goes to California.
