Model A to T-5

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by **DONOTDELETE**, Feb 8, 2004.

  1. Does anybody have any info on the best kit to mate a T-5 & juice brakes (mostly concerned about the pedsals & master cylinder) to a stock model A? I tried the Model A board but the purists said, 'why no just leave it stock" - I said I'd like to AT LEAST keep up with slow lane traffic. Any leads would be great! Thanks Jim

There was a link at the "Ford Barn" site to a shop in GA that makes the kit, also on some of the banger speed sites. I will try to find it later tonight.

Thanks for the tip; that's a great site.

Supposedly you can use a Lakewood scatter shield, also. the block flange has enough meat to redrill for the A flywheel cover. You would have to index it to the crank centerline, first.

The "Restorer" (Models A Ford Club of America) magazine has an add for a complete Borg-Warner 5-speed set-up for a Model A for $895.

  7. After machining a Model A bell housing and flywheel to accept a T5 I wished I had purchased my good friends alloy bell housing he casts for either A or B engines.
