This is my first post but i've been reading the hamb for a while so I figured I ask you guys for help. I'm in the process of building up a 30 A. I want to use the original rear trailing arms but i'm not sure if they are srtong enough. They sat oustide with the frame for around 20 years. They are slightly bent in opposite directions and have a little pitting. Pretty much what i'm getting at is if I weld the seam up on the bottom would they be strong enough to use today. I dont know what motor i'm using yet but nothing bigger than a 350. Also i need a new body mine was completely trashed and beyobnd repair, I want a sedan if anybody can help me with that as well. Thanks, Jim.

The original radius rods will be too weak for even a hopped up 4 banger. I suggest something stronger. There is a 'new to the board " intro page for first time posters. Please post an intro there,so you won't get hurt.(too badly):DSparky

Try a long triangular arm structure made of two strong pieces of tubing in a V--then cut the back side out of the A arms and tack them onto one of the new arms, paint the other arm flat black and pretend it isn't there...
