    Hi,
I am just about to start tearing into a somewhat neglected Model A engine to see what needs attention. The water pump is a mystery. I can't seem to find any information about this design. Can anyone tell me if its a factory part or some kind of aftermarket design. There does not seem to be any access to the packing nut and rear bearing lube point what looks like a grease point at the back is a set screw. .

Sometimes Model A engines were use in industrial applications such as generators, compressors etc. so that might be the case.

If its aftermarket, or later industrial application I'm hoping it has a better bearing/sealing system, as the shaft is fully enclosed. I will have a closer look when I take the cover plate off.
