Model A Windshield Frame Chopping Question

    I need help on chopping my 29-windshield frame. Any tips/tricks for this process would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks

    cut same amount you chopped the top......cut from the straight side(bottom) up.........
     
  4. the ford frames are wider at the bottom. allows the gl*** to slide in without binding. after you cut the bottom gently spread them equally. if not the bottom will most likely bow and change the gl*** shape

    Not on Model A's. The gl*** goes in from the top so the TOP is wider.

    Cut the amount needed off from the top following the same angle as the factory. Carefully spread the sides out until the top bar fits back in. You will probably have to clean out the inside of each end so the top fin and corner brackets will side inside. Redrill the 3 holes per side at the correct distance....and you're done.

    I second this. Cut the top... No welding when your done... simple cut and go.
     
  7. Thanks for the correction. I have 2 Model A windshields chopped in the shop right now. can I blame Senility (I'm 67) after 44 years in the gl*** business it all starts to blurr!...........Jim
