I am replacing all the wiring in my 30 roadster.

I’m missing the housing at the end of my steering box.

What is the name of the part that attaches the wiring harness to my steering box? I’ve searched the entire interweb.... nothing.

  3. There's a tin housing and a wire bail that holds everything in place

You can get new repop's from Snyders, Mac's or any other Model A parts supplier. You might check The Ford Barn classifieds, that's where I sold mine at.

It's on page 99 of Brattons catalogue. USA made light switch body. $45.95.

You might also need the "light switch bail", it's the wire that attaches to the two ears on the lower steering column and holds the switch assembly in place. Brattons PN 5840.

  8. Bratton's has a good reputation with the Model A community. You might ask if they have two quality levels, the cheap ones that don't fit and the more expensive ones that go right on. It is amazing how many people go for the cheap ones. If you would add your general location to your profile there might be a good parts source around the corner from where you live.

  9. If you are into hot rods rather than restoration. You might just pick up an aftermarket light switch and do more conventional wiring of the headlights, and with less headaches trying to make that old switch work. The A steering gear and large diameter steering wheel are likely to be early casualties once you start to modify your A, even if you keep the four banger motor.

  10. That's what I did, I installed a F100 steering box and mounted a push/pull switch in center dash.

Snyder's has all this, I just ordered all the parts to get mine wired up. There are 2 bodies, one is cheaper than the other. The cheaper one is junk. The $45 one is made in USA and still needs a little tweaking.
