So my friend built this Woodie back in the 80's ( original a Paddy Wagon in Mexico) He sold it in about 1989,, to the gentleman that still owns it today ( his son is now the custodian since his Dad's health prevents from driving anymore) It spent alot of time in So Cal.. salt air took its toll on some of the chrome... Its now back here, and my friend is doing some much needed maintenance.. clutch slave gave out.. and car had been sitting awhile,, that the clutch disc was stuck to the pressure plate ( he got it all working again) did a tune up for the family.. pretty much looks the same as it did 40 years ago.. I would love to own it ... but its a family heirloom now... its a 283 with a 3 speed manual ... had to share..it make me miss the 51 I had...
Got behind the wheel on Saturday, while bleeding the slave cylinder.. I would have to put the seat back a bit...pedal ***y is really close... and steering wheel was right at my chest.. no room for my legs... and I'm not a big guy...
A's are a tight fit for the Modern American... If I were to imagine the perfect A woodie, THAT one would fit the bill exactly.
