Too bad you didn't do a compression check while it was running off the stand. But then, when you tear it all down you'll probably magnaflux it anyway. What's you plans for the flatty? Rebuild? Good thoughts on the transmission upgrad. Interesting to see this build progress. Won't be that same car at all.
planning ahead, for the days ahead... waiting on the actual flathead manuals to move on to remove pulleys etc. Won't have much time to work on the chumster this weekend as its back to the chopper again... Deadlines! Deadlines! Also need to get back on the track weapon and an engine rebuild for a different kind of flathead (the two wheel kind) lol Anyways, please stay tuned for updates, thanks for subscribing and have a great new year!
Yeah, with the hrs I have in this project thus far it's gonna have to get rebuilt. I don't wanna play around with the unknown. It is such an elegant, simple and pure design. I grin every time I work on it, as I rebuilt the engine on my f150 which was the direct descendant of this F600 truck engine! Funny the circle of life and all that stuff... Any way I digress, to answer your question probably 200-225HP. I'm sure there are a few ways to get there (merc crank, more volume etc). Yes, will flux and deck block etc also. This thing won't weigh that much so should be plenty enuff power...
Please flip the Fuel Pump around when you put it back together. That set up is crazy with the fuel lines wrapping around like that. . . . either way, looks like you're making good progress. Keep the pictures coming, a thread with pictures is always good.
