Not bad at all, looks like a totally usable block. Regarding "pinning", if they're actually referring to "heli-coil" then yes, do it. Don't let them attempt any other type of repair. Heli-coil is the only way it will last!

Since you've pointed that out, let me point something out to you again. That is not a gang sign. It is called the "Shocker," please look it up. If you can't be bothered to look it up, let me kindly explain. It stands for two for the pink and one for the stink. If you don't get that still, you put two fingers up a girls pink vagina and your other finger up her brown anal hole. Hence the "pink" and "stink." The "shocker" portion is the females unexpected shock of getting the anal stimulation. Hope that clears things up...

Anyways, back to business boys... So Daddiiiiiiyoooooo! If "pinning" is not heli-coiling (a process which has saved my hiney a few times) is not the same then that's a no-go? What other block repair is there? He said he would attach some material and then deck the block for square... is that correct? I have seen people tig weld whole surfaces of blocks and do this... Why will/won't this work in my case?

Please advise... your previous Padiwan who is now on the dark side of the force

Pinning is drilling a series of holes along the crack and putting in steel pins. The process is repeated until the pins overlap completely, then it's milled down flush again. It's a good and common way to repair cracks.
