Question for the knowledge mongers... What size thread holes does a 53' flatty/8ba have on the front, inboard to the water pumps where it would mount to a 32 A frame on the front crossmember? (There are 4 holes) Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Ok... This thread is gonna take a weird and wonderful turn! I'm gonna chop the sedan up and fuse it to a 40s ford hood and create a boat tail speedster!! Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
This is gonna be a 2 seater... So what year hood would be the best to start with? (I.e least amount of fab work) Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!

Not really this T-body... I inherited the t-concept from the PO but never truly liked it... I really like the speedster idea on a t-body. I've always loved those old Buggatti's and old Bentley's. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
You are going to want a different body for a boattail build. I would suggest finding an old touring body.
It seems that the T has the rightish proportions in terms of grill height/cowl height etc... But I do see how a touring body would be a better fit... Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
First, I'm not exactly sure what I'm looking at here. Some definitions (and specifics) of each item would help. Second, I dig the speedster idea but one word of advice. Changing plans mid stream is recipe for disaster as far as I'm concerned. Stay the course and finish the Tudor, build a speedster NEXT as a second car. You've probably been down this road before building bikes: major changes mid project cost a LOT more than the original plan, and a LOT more than the "revised plan" ever anticipated. Not just money, but time! Stay the course man, build a speedster with leftover parts and new ones sourced specifically for THAT car. You'll regret it if you don't. Drop $200 for 4" axle New king pins $100 New spindles $150 Bending spring arms to fit dropped axle $50 New lincoln/Buick drums $400 $250 drums (125 each) $50 hubs $40 hub seals On the other topic I feel you man... But I just don't feel the T... I just gotta do it... I won't forgive myself if I don't... I had a dream about a boat tailed speedster... Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Yeah, those prices look pretty fair. My '27 T Roadster build: www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t= 734383
Picked up some more pieces today... Joe at joes speedshop says 3-4 weeks on the turnaround... Houdaille shocks from an A truck... The lever arms are a tad longer... So I picked up these too... From a non-truck Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
