so I decided to charge on and try and pull engine-trans1-trans2 in one sitting... time to undo a bunch of wires and bolts... here's a side shot of the pos cable going to the starter (I assume)

Keep truckin on it. I'm fixing a poorly built 'rat rod' for a customer right now. The previous builders used as much junkyard parts they could find and were NOT welders/fabricators or engineers by any means. They didn't believe in jam nuts, so they welded everything. The frame was horrible. The body is another story in itself. He bought it like that, drove it, got scared, called me, and now I'm building it the right way for him.

I feel ya... I almost wish I had started from ground zero, but I like reverse engineering and I have an idea now of how this thing will go back together again with quality parts, engineering and my anal zero tolerance for poor workmanship. This is almost a dummy run de-mock up. Oh well live and learn I guess... :)

i think you can see y people on here calld that a ratrod now. everything is badly engineered. but good for you going about this the right way. it must suck tho throwing away most of the parts, not that there good anyway.

Do some research before you buy from them. There's a guy by the name of Chris Novak that's been taking money from hot rodders for years and not delivering anything. Make sure he's not involved, it may just be a coincidence.

The one site that used to have LOTS of info on Chris Novak has removed it... lawsuit, likely. I talked to a friend of mine who builds Jeeps and he says Novak Adapt is the cats meow, so unlikely related. Theres also a number of posts regarding Novak Adapt here, so I can only surmise that these are good people.

They're in my state, but couldn't be further away at 400 miles. Otherwise I'd drop in and check 'em out for you. I'm sure there are others here who could recommend them as well.
