I don't like bothering you guys with stupid questions......but hey, this is what you guys enjoy though! I have a '29 model A pickup that has been giving me problems for a few months now. I start it cruise around the block and it starts getting hot quick! Water shootin' out of the top of the radiator and everywhere else it can fit! My temp gauge wasnt workin, so put in a new one and it goes from 130 deg ta 240 in about 5 minutes if car is idle, less if driving! I took the radiator in, got it pressure tested, they fixed that, than I got new water pump.....so I don't think it's either one of those! (Unless the core of radiator) Someone recommended my head gasket.....So, sure enough pulled the head off but the gasket looked alright to me....I decided to do some further inspecting so I pulled off the valve stem cover on the side and the oil seemed really black and thick to me....(Just changed it not too long ago) and it was also gritty. One more thing..the spark plugs were pretty black too....Is it time to rebuild? What is causing the grit? Do you think the block is screwed? I would appreciate some help guys.......
