Model A's channeled to running boards.

Basically, the frame is double stepped to get it down the 8" that it would need to be channelled. If you look in the truck the floor is flat except for the trans tunnel. Still pretty tight down in the footwells, but it would be nuts with a flat frame and an 8" channel. Rod&Custom did an article on the truck in the early ninties that showed a couple of build pictures so you could get and idea of how it went together.
