Simply that I'm going to hydro brakes all the way around and trying to figure out the best way to do the lines. I saw a pic on here awhile ago of someone running there rear line up the torq tube with a Tee at the rear axle. Is this an acceptable method? Its certainly the most direct route. Also where are you bringing the front passenger line over? it seems I could do it in front of the motor but want to make sure theres not too much torq to stress it? Cheers!
There was a sheet metal bracket on about the '39s that mounted the fitting where the wishbone went together in the front and then the lines went down the wishbones. Charlie Stephens
on the rear you will need to "jump" from the frame to the axle using a rubber line. like the one you mentioned they used a small rubber line up near the front where there is the least amount of movement. on the fronts come forward along the frame to a tee and use a rubber line at both wheels to "jump" from the frame to the backing plate.
Here is how I did my rear line. And fronts, Hopefully this is helpfull. I never considered flex, in regards to the frame / lines. However it has worked so far for a few hundred miles.
Hey thats perfect! Where are you guys getting the "through frame brake mounts" also is there any issues with running the brake line up the torq tube? my master cyclinder exits out right near it.
I meant for the front brake lines. I have the rubber lines off the calipers but would like to go through the frame like in the pics above.
The brake lines are nothing special, they are the stock front 39 to 48 ford I believe, but rather than mounting them with tabs off of the frame I went thru the frame and jamb nutted it to the inside of the frame. I don't think there is a problem at all with going down the tube or wishbones, you have to run the front lines up the frame, I thought I would do the same to the rear. I just thought this would look cleaner to me.
