I bought a 3 foot diameter plastic pool for my dog for $7.99 and I guarantee it has a lot more plastic in it than a model kit. The reason that prices are high is that more adults are buying models and they will pay more. Let's face facts, few kids today have any interest in building models.
For Christmas in the early 1960's I received two model kits I remember fondly...one was Mono ram's Black Widow, the other was XR-6, a radical T-bucket powered by a slant 6 engine...I be live it was by AMT.... Anyone know if these kits have been reissued?
LoL... Don't you mean the "Black Widow"??? It was released 5-6 months ago... You should be able to find a new one on ebay...
Yup...the Black Widow...I re-edited my post to fix the spelling... Posting from a tablet as it's too damn hot in the house to use the computer....
Well, after 2.5 years of this thread......all the responses...... I'm taking another trip to the fabled place I went to,for the exact same thing I did the first time! This time,I'm armed with the coupon, and will be bringing home that Merc I saw....(hope it's still there)! Something cool will be bought just because. Model on!
For sure! It was a big part of life in my younger years, before a drivers license, before all the fun stuff i have now, before I knew squat! But,always immagined what if someday I could have this thing..... Fast forward- Now I do. Now it's time to go back to the "roots" of my earliest hotrodding.......I hope I score!
