A little progress on both of these.

How do you like the doors?

Grill shell on this one. Actually started as a stock '32. Sectioned, lengthened, slightly narrowed, leaned foward, etc., and the quad lights.

Figures...we both post at the same freakin' time. Like your rods... they're coming along.

  4. Here's todays project. I used an extra 532 Chev body as a donor for the full length skirts. Still have some fit and finish to do, but I think it'll work fine. Next comes the chop and sedan conversion. Is there anyone in the aftermarket that makes a pair of 56 Clipper taillights? Otherwise, I'll have to build tham out of scratch.

The wide whites are from the Revell '31 Ford sedan, '29 Ford pickup, or "Rat Rod" t-bucket kit.

Those particular wheels are from the Beatnik Bandit...I'm really starting to think a set of Radirs would look pretty damn good there instead though...

the Sowhat 5w is looking good, you did a nice job on the doors.

I think radir on the 3W would give it a different look.. nice thing about models, tires and wheels are cheap...

Lookin' good Fidge. I'm workin' on gettin' my doors perfect right now. Should be on the last skim coat of filler to get them damned glue seams to disappear. I'll post some pics later after I get a coat of primer on 'em. Started a bed last night but it's too short...maybe I'll have a new one by the time I get the camera out.

Oh yeah I got the Big T kit the other day...doh...

Alright! After what feels like days of sanding filling filing shaping polishing over and over I've finally got the doors lookin' like they were made this way. No more ghost lines where my slicin' and dicin' was. I've still got a couple more rounds to go on the body, but it's not far behind.

Makin' good progress on the new box. Cut the reveal out of sheet plastic...hour later or so it's startin' to look like a piece of stamped steel.

First box was too short...how's the proportions look on this one?

Here are the above pictured RMCoM 56 Packard taillights installed on a car. I still would like to get the fit a bit better, but they look great, but making the opening that they slide into in the rear fender is quite a bit of work. This one is chrome foiled just for mock up, but I will send it for plating

And I also had Norman (of RMCoM) cast these 56 caddy dagmars from an old Revell(?) parts pack for this project. He is going to offer these as a limited run just to wear out the mold he made, and they will be cast solid (the originals are hollow in the back) to make it easier to modify them to fit, as I will need to do to make them fit my model. I dont have a price yet, but I told him I'd post the info on the limited run here, but he wants to have them packaged with a header card (and price) first , which I'll have wednesday. If they sell very quick, and he knows there is a demand, he will permanently add them to his line. [IMG]

I havnt used them yet, but I know a lot of people who have been happy with them. Turn around time is supposed to be around 4-6 weeks.

He shows a pic of the 5 window, but only shows prices for the 3 window body. I have never purchased from this guy, only discussed his 1.8th 50 merc body that isnt out yet over the phone. The pics on the site look good, but most 1/8th resin castings I have seen had huge air bubbled in them needing filling, maybe his are better though.

I think eDeuce.com has a 1/8 five-window body available, but I can't vouch for quality. I'll take a look if they're vending at NNL West next weekend like they were last year.

I'm working on the flyer for my own event right now... here's the pic I threw together:

And from the other thread I started in parallel with this one, a 1/16 T-Bird:

I was at a model show last sunday and Bob from Chrometech was vending next to me. He does good work. He is from Madison WI. He does a lot of plating of plastic parts on real cars too. (interior)

It was the Platteville WI show. Actually it moved to Belmont(?). Well I try to get most of the vendors to come to Cedarville Il the second sunday in march anyway. (HINT HINT) There is a good chance I might sell 4 tables to one guy who happens to be getting rid of his collection. (HINT HINT). I picked up some good deals from him last sunday. Had to beat Frank to them though. HA HA Scott
